"Hierophant" offers over 80 minutes of music across two CDs, showcasing what Sangdragon represents in 2023. The first CD, "The Black Dragon", leans towards the band's Symphonic Death Metal influences with tracks like "Curse of Desert," "Let The Fire Speak," and "Under My Stigmata." On the other hand, the second CD, "The White Dragon," delves into Dark Medieval Folk, featuring tracks like "Cernunnos," "Winged Blade (med version)", and "Back To Elysium."
The year 2020 brought changes to Sangdragon's line-up, with the addition of the prodigious Florian Iochem (Catalyst) on guitars and talented Léo Mouchonay (Avaland) on drums. Their arrival has revitalized the band's sound, evident in their new double album.
Lead vocalist and band leader Lord V. speaks about the album, saying,
"The truth is that I love ritual baroque gothic as much as black and symphonic death metal... Limiting myself to a single style is therefore absolutely unthinkable. Indeed, I take as much pleasure in proposing both styles of music, both on the metal stages and during medieval festivals. These are two aspects that are now inseparable from my journey, which I do not approach with the same mindset."Stay tuned for the release of Sangdragon's "Hierophant" on October 21st, 2023, via Wake Up Dead Records.
