Whalesong, the industrious noise rock band hailing from Poland, is set to release their newest offering "Leaving a Dream" under the esteemed labels, Zoharum and Old Temple. The release date is scheduled for 14th July 2023, and it will be available in Digital and CD formats. "Leaving a Dream" takes listeners on an exploratory journey across a musical landscape strewn with distinct elements of noir jazz, drone, ambient, industrial, gothic americana, and noise rock. The 120-minute opus includes tracks such as "Enter", "Forgive", "Believe Us", "Leaving a Dream", "Here I Am", and "We Have Never Really Lived", among others. Band leader Michal Kielbasa, along with Grzegorz Zawadzki, Piotr Dziemski, and Elise Aranguren, has aimed to capture the live music atmosphere as closely as possible. A good number of the instrument tracks were recorded in one take, resulting in an organic and resonant sound that carries a pronounced soundtrack-style feeling. Loyal followers of Swans, Einstürzende Neubauten, Wovenhand, Glenn Branca, Anna von Hausswolff, Bohren & Der Club of Gore will find this album an intriguing addition to their collection. The recording boasts a list of guest musicians including Attila Csihar, Lazarus, Dancing Deadlips, Steve Blanco, Aleksander Papierz, Tomasz Herisz, Pawel Pelka, Miro Snejdr, and Wukir Suryadi. The album has been recorded at Antisound Studio, Tarnowskie Gory between 2020-2023 and has been produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Michal 'Neithan' Kielbasa. Visual aesthetics for the album have been designed with the artwork pictures by Aleksandra Stambulska / revalexcor and layout artwork by Maciej Mehring.
