Weaving the serene beauty of nature with the powerful resonance of atmospheric black metal, Brazilian solo artist Matheus Vidor, known as Autrest, is set to release his debut album, "Follow the Cold Path," under Northern Silence Productions. Originating from the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul, Autrest was established in the winter of 2022. Over the next few months, Matheus meticulously crafted his debut album, encapsulating his profound connection with the wilderness in his music. "Follow the Cold Path" transports listeners to a world of misty forests and icy peaks, each track a new journey through this ethereal landscape. The seven-track album, featuring songs such as "December Dusk," "Follow the Cold Path," and "The Place Where I Belong," encompasses an exquisite fusion of melodic riffs, haunting vocals, and atmospheric ambience. The music reflects influences from bands like Cân Bardd, Saor, Caladan Brood, Eldamar, and Elderwind. The album will initially be available in a Collector's Edition 6-panel digipack, limited to 500 copies, and a Special Collector's Edition A5-Digipack, limited to 100 hand-numbered copies. A vinyl release will follow shortly. Matheus Vidor, the force behind Autrest, not only composed all the tracks but also performed and recorded all the instruments, showcasing his diverse musical talents. His efforts were brought to fruition through the mixing and mastering process, which he also handled.
