Spanish metal band Apotropaico recently released their latest single "Trapped," which blends heavy, thrash metal, hard rock, and punk. Recently, the band shared their creative process for this new release, which was mostly done during lockdown. "It was like distance work, sharing riffs and lyrics recorded at home. Then, we started performing during rehearsals." After two years of line-up changes and challenges, the band finally recorded the single in November 2022. "Trapped" reflects the band's experience during the pandemic and the feeling of being trapped in an unreal world: "This is exactly the first track that we recorded after two bad years and two lineup changes, so it has undergone an evolution in terms of writing and recording the tracks, as well as capturing the essence of the band in this moment." Apotropaico also revealed that this single sets the tone for their upcoming EP, set to be released in summer 2023.
Fans of classic thrash metal will find a fresh track with a modern twist in "Trapped." The band hopes that the song will connect with listeners and give them a good party mood. "Fans who like thrash metal in a classic way will enjoy it live!"
"Trapped" is available now on digital platforms, released through Demons Records. The single was recorded in Ibiza in June 2022 at Antistudiopro and mixed and mastered at Red Ghost Studios in Ukraine. Apotropaico is comprised of Pablo Kiaro on vocals, Teo Mochen on bass, Ivan Tamarit on guitar, and Manolo Guerra on drums.
