Professor Cristina Has

(University of Freiburg, Germany)

Cristina Has specialized in EB and other genetic skin diseases. The professor and her research group intensely studied the underlying disease mechanisms: they identified new genes and characterized large groups of patients with genodermatosis.

September 17: clinical trials and international experience in EB therapy

Professor Peter Marinkovich

(Stanford University, USA)

Associate Professor of Dermatology and Co-Founder of the Epithelial Biology Program at Stanford University School of Medicine. Professor Peter Marinkovich has conducted research involved in several ongoing trials of gene therapy for EB.

Professor Eli Sprecher

(Sourasky Medical Center, Israel)

 Doctor of Medicine researches the genetic basis of skin diseases. The professor deals with molecular genetics of traits and translates knowledge into innovative therapeutic tools.

Dr. Su Mar Lwin

(St. John Institute of Dermatology, King's College, UK)

Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Su Mar Lwin Ph.D. is engaged in translational therapy research. She is currently leading a DEBRA-funded project to develop gene therapy for recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB).

Professor Dedee Murrell

(University of New South Wales, Australia)

The professor studies epidermolysis bullosa to develop criteria for the clinical outcomes of EB and other autoimmune diseases.

September 18: clinical care and treatment of EB

Professor Jemima Mellerio

(St. John Institute of Dermatology, Guy & St. Thomas Health Foundation, UK)

Expert in genetic skin diseases, in particular EB and pediatric dermatology. Her work focuses on new therapies: cell and gene therapy for EB and other genetic skin diseases.
