We are delighted to announce the promotion of Aliya Zhumekenova to the position of a Partner of GRATA International effective June 1, 2022. 

Aliya used to be a Counsel of Industry and Trade Department in Almaty and Relationships Manager for a number of international clients. Aliya has been a leading lawyer and the Head of the Pharmaceutical Department. Aliya joined GRATA as a Senior associate in 2014 and worked on developing relationship with clients in the pharmaceutical sector.

Aliya has experience in corporate and commercial, investments and business restructuring. She has extensive experience and long-term clients in the fields of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and FMCG sector.  Moreover, Aliya’s experience includes advising major international companies on the acquisition of assets, including legal due diligence, as well as advising on corporate structuring, corporate reorganizations. 

Danil Gavrin is promoted to the position of a Senior Associate of Industry and Trade Department effective June 1, 2022.

Danil joined the Firm in July 2019 as a Junior associate and later had been promoted to an Associate position in the same department.

Danil has experience in corporate, labor, contract, personal data protection, and commercial law. He managed to prove himself in advising both local and foreign companies on various issues related to his specialization.

Danil is committed to his work, trustworthy and reliable team-player, and character-driven lawyer.

Today we also would like to introduce a new Junior Associate Zhibek Nurbakytova.

Zhibek will be working in the Intellectual Property Department under the Head of IP, Timur Berekmoinov. 

Zhibek joined the Firm as a paralegal this spring. She has an LLM degree from Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. 

As her supervisor, Timur, states, Zhibek has good knowledge and theoretical basis in jurisprudence and is ready to contribute. Zhibek shows herself as a hardworking, purposeful and responsible person who is always ready to help.
