GRATA International St. Petersburg in PRAVO.RU: Bankrupt statistics refuted the experts' forecasts

The number of companies recognized as insolvent in the first half of 2021 was lower than in the pre-crisis 2019. Lawyers argue about what led to such results and whether there will still be a promised surge in bankruptcies.

Today, bankruptcy has already lost its relevance as a way to get rid of obligations, believes Denis Shestakov, partner, head of bankruptcy practice at GRATA International St. Petersburg. Until recently, debt cancellation services through bankruptcy were in good demand, and the negative consequences of it were rare, usually as a result of the mistakes of the executor.

On July 1-3, 2021, an online conference was held within the framework of Astana Finance Days, annually held by the Astana International Financial Center.

AFD speakers and participants was representatives of local and foreign government agencies, international organizations, business, professional and scientific community.

On July 1, 2021, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Rostov region together with the GRATA International Rostov-on-Don Law Firm, the Lezhnin and Partners Bar Association, the ICAC Branch in Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Export Support Center held a practical seminar "Doing Business with China: Legal Aspects" at the ССI of the Rostov region.

Two representatives of GRATA International participated in the seminar - Gulnur Nurkeeva, Partner, Head of the China office, and Inna Makarova, Partner, Head of the Maritime and Customs Practice, Foreign Economic Activity office in Rostov-on-Don.

The speeches and presentations of our colleagues concerned the practical issues when concluding a contract with Chinese partners and resolving disputes, the procedure for recognizing and enforcing decisions of state and arbitration courts in the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.

On June 30, 2021, the SCO International Conference was held in Beijing on the topic: «Investment potential of the Central Asian countries - opportunities and prospects for the realization of joint projects within the SCO." 

The Conference was organized to develop an investment cooperation within the 
SCO framework. The organizers were the SCO Secretariat, the Embassies of the CA and PRC countries, Chinese Overseas Development Association (CODA).

Gulnur Nurkeeva, Partner and Head of GRATA Beijing Office, took an active part in the Conference and held business meetings with representatives of the Embassies and business structures.
