GRATA International has awarded scholarships to students at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University


On October 21, 2023, the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an annual scientific conference on the topic: "Constitutional development of Kazakhstan as a democratic state: theory and practice" in honor of the renowned scientist, academician Sartayev Sultan. 


In anticipation of Republic Day, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law of KazNU organized a competition among law students for the best essay on the scientific legacy of Academician S. Sartayev. As part of the conference, GRATA International Law Firm awarded scholarships to six winning students for their outstanding essays. 


GRATA International maintains close cooperation with numerous universities and higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, contributing significantly to the development of the legal profession in the country. 

GRATA International Belarus is a Partner of the second season of the BLC 2023 legal case championship in the Contract Law section


GRATA International Belarus is a partner of the second season of the BLC 2023 legal case championship in the Contract Law section.


BLC is a legal case championship where the following tasks are to be accomplished by the participants:

  1. Solveseveral legal cases;
  2. Prepare and submit legal advice in the selected areas;
  3. Draw up a contract and try their hand in business negotiations.

On November 18, 2023, the final of the case championship was held, where Natalia Zhuk, Counsel, Polina Sachava , Associate, will evaluate the performances of 5 finalists. The one finalist will receive an invitation to an internship at GRATA International Belarus.

GRATA International Mongolia hosted Contract Law training session

On November 8, 2023, GRATA International Mongolia, in collaboration with the German-Mongolian Business Council and the Business Council of Mongolia, hosted a Contract Law training session. Over 40 participants, comprising members of the business councils and individuals with a keen interest, took part in the event.


In this session, we sought to elaborate on and give understanding of the overall structure of the contract, essential conditions that must be  included in the contract and their relevance in greater depth based on practical application.

Partner and Director of GRATA International Astana branch took part in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi


On November 7, 2023, the ABU DHABI WORLD MASTERS JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP 2023, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF), was held in the United Arab Emirates. It is the 15th World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed. The Championship will last until November 10 and will bring together about 7,000 athletes from 127 countries.

Samat Daumov won a bronze medal, in total he held three fights for Kazakhstan.


Samat has been actively engaged in jiu-jitsu for several years, in 2019 he became a World Champion in Abu Dhabi, later in 2021 he won a bronze medal at the same championship and was a multiple winner of international competitions.

GRATA International Belarus took part in a business meeting on the topic: "Logistics 2.0: new realities, new solutions"


On November 09, 2023, Polina Sachava, Associate of the Contract Law practice at GRATA International Belarus, took part in a business meeting on the topic: "Logistics 2.0: new realities, new solutions".


The meeting was planned by "Belagroprombank" LLC for management personnel of large corporate business entities, as well as medium and small businesses engaged in foreign economic activity.


The following thematic sessions were held within the framework of the meeting:

  1. New realities and new solutions;
  2. Financial risk management in logistics;
  3. Foreign economic activity with China;
  4. Legal support of foreign economic activity (speaker – Polina Sachava);
  5. Financial session arranged by the bank.

GRATA International, Belarus took part in the first-ever forum for Belarusian business "Export league"


On November 14, 2023, Polina Sachava, Associate of the Contract Law practice at GRATA International Belarus , took part in the first-ever forum for Belarusian business "Export league".


Within the framework of the forum, the plenary session: "The role of export support institutions in the development of foreign economic activity in Belarus" was organized. There were also sessions on e-commerce, marketing, logistics, custom clearance and certification, financial aspects of foreign economic activity support.


Polina made a presentation "Electronic procurement as a tool for entering the markets of the EAEU treaty countries" as part of the "E-commerce" session, telling what it’s needed to pay attention to when concluding contracts in electronic form.

GRATA International participated at the Kazakhstan-France Business Forum


On November 1, 2023, the Kazakhstan-France Business Forum was hosted as part of the State Visit by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron in Astana.


The forum featured roundtable discussions on the following specific industries: Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Energy, Engineering, Logistics, Transportation.


The program also provided for holding business meetings of Kazakh companies with French colleagues in order to attract potential investors and establish joint business partnerships.


Representatives of GRATA International: Partners Samat Daumov, Liya Akzhanova, Zaira Sarsenova, Aliya Zhumekenova and Counsels Ainura Takeyeva, Akzhan Sargaskayeva took part in the Forum as delegates.

Gulnur Nurkeyeva, the Director of GRATA International China office, participated in the 6th LSEG Capital Markets China Conference held in Beijing


Gulnur Nurkeyeva, Director of GRATA International China office, participated in the 6th LSEG Capital Markets China Conference held in Beijing. It was organized by the London Stock Exchange Plc, LSEG, which opened its representative office in China in 2008. Among the guests of the event were heads of financial banks, law firms, listing companies, as well as representatives of other branches of the financial services sector. 


Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, delivered a welcoming speech. There were presentations on M&A transactions, the state of the securities market in Mainland China and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. During the panel sessions, participants discussed cross-border depositary receipts, in particular global and Chinese DRs, investor relations, and ESG.
