On July 6, 2023 GRATA International Belarus together with its partners multimodal freight forwarder RTL Alliance, consulting company ASER, CJSC «MTBank» held the second regional business seminar «Logistics, Finance, Foreign Economic Activity in 2023» in Mogilev Regional Development Agency.
The first summer visit of the team of experts took place on June 22, 2023 in the Free Economic Zone «Grodnoinvest».
Representatives of enterprises in various sectors of the economy, including woodworking, machinery and light industry attended the business seminar.

Having reviewed with the audience the provisions of Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of May 16, 2023 No. 138 «On Lease and Free Use of Property», expert in his speech pointed out main legislative innovations in the area of leasing real estate owned by state-owned and state-controlled business entities: - documentation of the lease transfer of immovable property – how it was / how it is;
- transfer of real estate for use without concluding a contract – new provisions;
- calculation of the lease rate;
- auctions for sale of lease rights and cases when an agreement is concluded without an auction;
- benefits on reimbursement of maintenance and operation expenses;
- reduction coefficient for production and more.

We are pleased to inform you about the publication of the third issue of the international scientific and practical legal journal «Chamber of Arbitrators», which includes two expert materials from the Chinese and Belarusian offices of GRATA International.

GRATA International, Belarus is a sponsor of the International student competition on International Trade Law and International Commercial Arbitration «Chamber of Arbitrators» for the third consecutive year.
Arbitrators from different GRATA International offices take part in the arbitration panel and evaluate teams and individual participants strictly but fairly.
Students, undergraduates, graduate students of a higher education institution, as well as attendees of its other courses can participate in the Competition.
The Competition is held on the basis of the Arbitration Rules of the International Arbitration Court «Chamber of Arbitrators at the Union of Lawyers» (went into effect on January 1, 2021), developed on the basis of the Arbitration Rules of UNCITRAL.

On June 30, 2023 «Yurist» magazine held an online seminar «Non-performance of the supply contract: how to recover debt, penalty, interest?».
Lizaveta Tsianiuta, Junior Associate at GRATA International, Belarus made a presentation on the issue of recovery of interest for the use of alienated funds, having told about:
- how to determine the period and correctly calculate interest for the use of funds; - whether it is possible to recover interest for the use of funds in case when buyer delays 100% prepayment for the goods; - nuances of calculating interest for the use of funds in case of arrears: an overview of situations; - what is the procedure for calculating the debt increased by inflation in accordance with par.2 of art. 366 of the Civil Code; - whether it is possible to reduce interest for the use of funds in court. | |  | Astana branch of GRATA International took part in Mining Week Kazakhstan 2023
On June 20-22, 2023, in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, the XVIII International Exhibition of Technologies and Equipment for the Mining and Metallurgical Complex and the rational use of subsoil was held.
Liya Akzhanova, Partner and Temirlan Kamelev, Procurement manager at GRATA International Kazakhstan, took part as delegates.
The exhibition was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Committee of Geology of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Karaganda region.
During the exhibition, industry specialists from various countries engaged in meetings to exchange experiences and explore new technologies, fostering the creation of joint business projects.

On June 20, 2023, the Kazakh-German Business Forum took place at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Astana, as part of the State visit of the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The forum included sector-specific round table discussions focusing on mechanical engineering, transportation, logistics, raw materials, and energy.
Samat Daumov, Director and Partner of the Astana branch of GRATA International, participated in the forum as a delegate.
Following the forum, business meetings were conducted between Kazakh companies and their German counterparts, aiming to attract potential investors and foster joint business partnerships. | |  | GRATA International Uzbekistan participated in the Mining and Metals Industry Development Conference (MMIDC 2023)
On 21 June 2023 the Mining and Metals Industry Development Conference (MMIDC 2023) was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the World Bank and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Bakhodir Jabborov, Managing Partner of GRATA International Uzbekistan, has moderated the New Legal Framework for Mining: What Changes? panel session at the conference.
The conference brought together the key players in the mining, metallurgy and related fields and focused on the current developments in the field of gold, copper, ferrous, rare-earth metals, uranium and coal exploration, mining and processing, as well as the manufacturing machinery for the mining industry, and digitization in mining and ESG.
