New LTD Company

During 2022 we changed from a sole trader to a LTD company structure, giving a better foundation for the future. All day-to-day work continues as before.

New Custom Workbench

We've built out the other side of our lab with a new huge 2.1x0.8m workbench, with upper and lower shelves. We've also added under-shelf bench lighting to give an easier to use environment.

This extra space lets us work faster and increases our capability for batch assembly of prototypes and small scale production runs.

This was custom designed and made by us using PG40 aluminium extrusions from Matara UK and faced birch plywood from Avon Ply (both recommended!).

Other Developments

A few other things, possibly of interest!

• New Overmolding Capability [pictured below] - we can now offer overmolding of connectors after gaining experience designing simple aluminium mold tools, together with researching and testing using Overtec 5FR adhesive injected with a hot melt gun.
• Joined Bluetooth SIG - We joined the organisation governing Bluetooth technology (including BLE and Mesh) as an 'Adopter' member. This gives greater access to documentation and test tools for customer projects.
• New Bench Power Supply - To support higher test & development needs up to 120V / 20A we purchased an Aim-TTi MX180TP Power Supply.
• New Accounting Software - We've transitioned to Zoho Books. This gives better customer visibility of billed time with a new online portal, and improves collection of time from sub-contractors, as well as many other automations and benefits.
• Regular Monthly Invoicing - To give better visibility of costs based on customer preferences we've changed to bill all hourly projects on a monthly basis, rather than ad-hoc when milestones are hit. We've also improved timesheets to give a detailed hourly breakdown of every task.
