Hello again!

"It has been just over a year since the last newsletter, and about time for an update - we've been hard at work on a range of customer projects, plus expanding capabilities in keys areas."

New Equipment & Capabilities

As the months have gone on we've gradually been investing in tools and equipment to improve the services we offer. Everything new pictured below allows us to do more, and faster, higher quality, or more cost effectively.

Firmware & Bluetooth Capabilities

A big goal for 2021 was to invest significant time in Firmware expertise. Two of our primary customer projects involved substantial Bluetooth Firmware development (both Bluetooth Low Energy & Mesh), and our code is now powering end customers' products in the market!

These involved using the excellent Zephyr RTOS and Nordic nRF Connect SDK, on the Nordic nRF52833 (Cortex M4 and Bluetooth SoC).

This had a fair learning curve but once passed it proved to be an enjoyable and powerful ecosystem, and one we will leverage for future projects.

Other Developments

A few other small things, possibly of interest!

• 3D Printed LED Sign [pictured below] - mainly because it looks cool and involved 3D printing! This was made to add some studio identity, following this excellent tutorial, with CAD design by the equally excellent Milan.
• KiCAD Upgrade - milestone v6.0.0 of the open-source PCB CAD tool we use has been released, leaping forward to be on par with the $$$ tools. All our designs now use this latest and greatest version.
• E-Signing - we've revised our process to use an electronic signing service to simplify contractual and other agreements.
