In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we invite you to consider the following questions:

Would a graduate student in a wheelchair be able to work in your lab?

Would someone with an auditory or visual impairment be able to participate in your class?

If you developed a disability, would you be able to continue in your current career path?

Disabilities can be both visible and invisible. In higher education, and especially in STEM fields, there is a lack of accessibility for students with disabilities. Click the link below to read more about the experiences of scientists with disabilities and suggestions on inclusion.

The Arc Minnesota provides information and assistance, advocacy, and training and education for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout their lifetime. The Arc advocates for systems change at the local, state, and national level.
