Know what it is and what to do about it

With the Fall 2020 semester picking up steam and midterms approaching, things can feel very overwhelming. A big problem in higher education is the ubiquity of impostor syndrome, especially in underrepresented groups. Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud". This week’s newsletter focuses on battling impostor syndrome in the sciences regardless of your identity and gaining awareness. Remember that you are not alone!

ACT | MN ACADEMY OF SCIENCE

The Minnesota Academy of Science’s FORSE program focuses on helping K-12 students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds participate in science fairs. Their goal is to pair scientists and students in order to promote equity in Minnesota’s STEM programming. To support this cause, you can apply to become a mentor.
