We have some important announcements to share with you regarding the future of your favorite local independent outdoor retailer. 

Ending Staffed Hours and Transitioning to Delivery

As of October 1st, we ended our staffed hours and transitioned towards a delivery model. This decision allows us to provide the best possible service while ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.

Even though we ended Staffed Hours, you can still pick-up/drop-off orders from our downtown location 24/7 with our secure storage lockers. We are incredibly grateful to our supportive landlord, whose generosity allows us to continue operating until the end of the year. We are actively seeking additional funding to sustain our operations beyond that.

Remembering Our Roots at 24th Street in the Mission

Many of you may recall our original location on 24th Street in the Mission. We are excited to reconnect with our history and offer delivery services from this iconic spot.

How It Works

Dropping Off Gear:
Dropping off gear is easy—you can do so whenever your selected outpost is open.

Picking Up Gear:
To ensure your order is prepared in time, please follow these guidelines:

• Operational Days: We operate Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays. Please note that on October 14, 2024, we will not have staffing.

• Order Preparation: Each operational day, we start at our downtown location at 9 AM to pack orders. All orders will be delivered to the outpost by 11 AM.

Pickup Guidelines

Delivery and Collection Services

We are pleased to offer home delivery and collection services for a nominal fee of $5.

• Delivery Service: Available only in San Francisco, from 9 AM to 11 AM. Same-day orders must be placed before 9 AM. If this option cannot be selected, the service is unavailable for that day.

• Collection Service: Also available for $5 within San Francisco, from 9 AM to 11 AM. Same-day orders must also be placed before 9 AM. If this option cannot be selected, the service is unavailable for that day.

*Additionally, we can ship outside of San Francisco, but we need advance notice to account for shipping times and costs.

Downtown SF: Last Minute Gear
563 Sutter Street

• Regular Hours:
  Mo-Su: 24/7
• Instructions: Self-service only
• Driving: Many garages nearby (under Union Square or at Sutter/Stockton, etc.), but they tend to be pricey. Multiple curb spaces are marked yellow commercial loading zones directly outside. Note: Ticketing & towing are active, especially weekdays from 4-6 PM!
• Public Transit: 4 blocks from Powell Street Station (BART and MUNI).
• Bike or Scooter: There is a rack directly outside.

Cole Valley SF: Simple
1001 Stanyan Street

• Regular Hours:
  Mo: 11 AM - 6 PM
  We, Th, Fr: 11 AM - 6 PM
  Sa, Su: 11 AM - 5 PM
• Instructions: A staff person at this business will help you.
• Public Transit: The MUNI lightrail N-line stops right outside.
• Bike or Scooter: There is a rack directly outside.

Mission SF: Kelly's Boutique

• Instructions: A staff person at this business will help you.
• Driving: Directly outside, there’s 1 curb space marked as a yellow commercial loading zone. The grocery store behind has a parking lot, which can be useful for splitting errands.
• Public Transit: 3 blocks from 24th Street Station (BART).
• Bike or Scooter: There is a rack directly outside.

Potrero Hill SF: BerryClean
1627 20th Street

• Regular Hours:
  Mo-Fr: 8 AM - 4 PM
  Sa, Su: N/A
• Instructions: A staff person at this business will help you. Note: This is an office, so it’s best to come when you can return if necessary. Do NOT block the garage on-site.
• Public Transit: 4 blocks from 22nd Street Station (CalTrain).
• Bike or Scooter: There is a rack across the street.

Oakland: Port Labs Co-working
2044 Franklin Street

• Regular Hours:
  Tu, Th: 12 PM - 5 PM
  Mo, We, Fr, Sa, Su: N/A
• Instructions: We work here on limited days & will schedule a specific time for you. Note: Do NOT come without an appointment.
• Driving: Many garages nearby. Free street parking is generally available.
• Public Transit: 2 blocks from the 19th Street Station (BART).

How Can I Pick Up Last Minute? Aren't You Called Last Minute Gear?

If you're in a pinch and need gear quickly, we always have some items available carefully curated for unexpected situations. You can check our catalog online for what's currently in stock! However, last-minute orders will need to be picked up at our downtown location.

Due to ongoing challenges with downtown recovery in San Francisco, we’ve had to close our downtown store to walk-ins, including last-minute orders. As a result, our downtown facility is now functioning solely as a warehouse and an outpost for gear pick-up and returns via our smartphone self-service process.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. While we may re-open our store for Staffed Hours in the future, these changes are essential for us to stay afloat during these times.
