President's Corner

It was certainly sad to see Rouleur close its doors after all those years together. They were a great sponsor, a great group of people, and they provided us with a great home away from home. Now it’s time to introduce our new brewery partner, Lost Abbey. I’m sure many of you are familiar with them through their San Elijo, Cardiff, and East Village locations. Luckily for us, they're now opening in Vista. Sharing the building with Eppig Brewing, Lost Abbey will serve as a great space for after-ride good times. So with Hoppy Hour rides starting March 12th, we have the route set! Welcome to the team Lost Abbey!

3/2 Social Ride

On Sunday, March 2, we're hosting our monthly Swami's Social Ride. It’s a conversationally-paced ride where you can meet long-time as well as new Swami’s members. You can check out all of the details here. We start and finish the Social Rides at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in Bressi Ranch (map). Wear a Swami's kit from any year to get a coffee and baked good, on Swami’s!

3/12 Hoppy Hour returns!

On Wednesday, March 12, the Hoppy Hour 2025 madness begins at our new brewery, The Lost Abbey Brewing Co, at 1347 Keystone Way Ste C, Vista (map). Note: Lost Abbey is in the back of Eppig Brewing. When you see the sign for Eppig, you’re there. We’re looking forward to seeing you at the new home for the Hoppy Hour and our Swamdo rides, and can't wait to make some memories there!

As always, the Hoppy Hour ride will roll at 5:30. Make sure you’ve downloaded the new route!

3/15 Hill Climb Challenge: Stonebridge

On Saturday, March 15, our hill climb challenges continue with a repeat of our Stonebridge ride, which we heard hurt so good the first time that you wanted to put it in the rotation! On the plus side, after Pomerado Road, the ride home is basically downhill. More information is available on the Stonebridge event page.

3/29 Great Western Loop

On Saturday, March 29, we begin our away rides with the beautiful Great Western Loop, featuring long climbs that are not too steep and lots of rolling hills. For those who want to make the most of the gorgeous scenery, there’s an option to add a 30-mile out-and-back to Pine Valley.

We’ll roll at 8:00 AM from the Rancho San Diego Shopping Mall. For more information, see our GWL event page.

New time for Tuesday/Thursday C Ride

Thanks to a grassroots effort that confirmed that there is solid demand for a later Gene Kelley ride, the Tuesday/Thursday 6:33 am C Ride now rolls at 8:00 am. The C ride is equal parts fun and challenging and is a great way to stay in shape in between weekend rides. Join the growing peloton! Note: The Gene Kelley A and B rides continue to roll at 6:30/6:32 am.

Mike on Board

We’re glad to announce that Swami’s member Mike Weber has joined the Swami’s advisory board. Through his “Thursday rides,” Mike is already renowned for his skill at designing routes that provide a great mix of interesting scenery, challenging climbing, and new locations. We’re thrilled to have him contribute new Saturday rides to the Swami’s calendar!

Where's my TheFeed discount?

Our sponsor TheFeed has announced a change to their cycling club store discounts. As of January 1, credit for Swami's Cycling Team has been paused, so you will no longer see a quarterly credit drop.

The site is launching a new and improved Feed Rewards Program, coming soon. All team members will be eligible to join, and they will notify you as soon as it goes live. If you have any questions or need more details in the meantime, feel free to reach out to them at hello@thefeed.com.
