January 2024

Fellow Swami’s members, we wish you a happy, healthy new year filled with many miles, PRs, and attainments of your 2024 cycling goals! We were glad to see so many of you and your +1's at Swami's holiday party in December at the Viewpoint Brewing Company. The 2024 rides start right away with the Rouleur New Year’s Ride, so you can get to work on your resolution to ride more - though if you also resolved to drink less beer, the party afterward won't make that easier. See you on the road!

1/1 Rouleur New Year’s Ride

On Monday, January 1, you can start the new year off right and ride your first miles of 2024 with friends, bikes, beer, and grub! All you need to do is choose whether you want to ride road or gravel. The rides will leave from Rouleur Brewing Company (map) at 9 am. Afterwards, you can enjoy a pint or two and recharge with some tasty grub from The Local Spot!

1/7 Social Ride

On Sunday, January 7, we're hosting our monthly Swami's Social Ride. It’s a conversationally-paced ride where you can meet long-time as well as new Swami’s members. You can check out all of the details here. A reminder: we now start and finish the Social Rides at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in Bressi Ranch (map). Wear a Swami's kit from any year to get a free coffee and baked good!

Hill Yeah!

With the new year and the Swamdo in the bag, the Swami’s Hill Challenge is back! Starting this month, the fourth Saturday ride of the month will be aimed at building climbing skills. We’ll concentrate on pacing and will regroup at the top of all climbs, so if you're not a mountain goat, don't worry!
