Fellow Swami’s members, we don’t care what Apple Weather says, the summer is in gear, and we’re celebrating with our annual party on wheels, the Swami’s Poker Ride! We hope to see you at the event on Saturday, June 24. Form your team and register now! Can’t ride but still want to participate? At the Poker Ride, the volunteers have as much fun as the riders. We’re looking for help with setup and check-in in the morning, food setup before lunch, and 1.5 hour shifts at stations. Contact Susan Anthony at treas@swamis.org if you can help. 6/4 Social RideOn Sunday, June 4, we're hosting our monthly Swami's Social Ride. It’s a conversationally-paced ride where you can meet long-time as well as new Swami’s members. You can check out all of the details here. A reminder: we now start and finish the Social Rides at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in Bressi Ranch (map). Wear a Swami's kit from any year to get a free pastry and coffee or drink of your choice. |

6/18 Donut RideOn Sunday, June 18, we’ll join the famous Donut Ride, leaving from Cadence Cyclery at 8:15 AM. It is the same route as the Swami’s San Clemente LSD, but at a non-LSD pace and with a stop at Surfin Donuts. The ride is usually moderate on the way out and picks up on the way home, once the donuts kick in. Remember your base pass, and please show up at Cadence for the start. Because Camp Pendleton has paused renewing base passes, plans may change depending on the availability of military sponsors. |

On Saturday, June 24, we will have our non-race up and down North County in pursuit of the best (or worst) poker hand, the most (or least) elevation, the best (or worst) team name, and more! - Registration is required. You can register here. The ride is free for current Swami’s members.
- We start and end at Alga Norte Park, 6565 Alicante Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009. We'll be at the covered picnic area by the basketball courts.
- Teams roll out as soon as all members are present and checked in. Check-in begins at 7:45 AM.
- You need to be in a team of at least four riders.
- There will be five card stations, including the start, where each team will receive a playing card and the location of the next station.
- There are NO route sheets - each team figures out how to get to the next station.
- There will be plenty of food and drinks at the end, but during the ride, make sure that you have enough nutrition for 50-60 miles. The stations will have water.
