The highlight of the camp was meeting acquaintances and riding with them up to Helmet Peak, in eastern Tucson. The team jumped on the Saturday group ride, known as “the Shootout," and got beat up by some really strong cyclists, including Trek-Segafredo pro rider Quinn Simmons, Belgian Waffle Ride 2022 winner Alexey Vermeulen, Jumbo-Visma Development rider Colby Simmons, and 2nd Place 2022 Unbound Gravel 200 winner Keegan Swenson. Rounding out the training camp were great cafe stops, a really nice bike path circumnavigating the city, and an amazing cycling vibe. Also, Swami's and Team e11even member Eric Baker braved the cold, damp Majestic Criterium on Sunday 2/26 and scored a 3rd place in the 60+ age group! Congratulations Eric for Team e11even's first podium of the season! |
