JOIN OUR CAMPAIGNS

It's time for 20 cents: Boomerang Alliance are leading a campaign to increase the rate of participation in the container deposit scheme. An increase from 10c to 20c would grow recycling and reduce litter. Check out the campaign and find write to your local member HERE

Tethered bottle tops: Polypropolene bottle tops are one of the most common items collected in beach and street cleans. Sign our change.org petition to urge the Victorian government to prioritise the adoption of tethered bottle caps at Tethered BottleTops

FORESHORE MANAGEMENT PLAN - CITY OF PORT PHILLIP

The City of Port Phillip has released their DRAFT Foreshore management plan. Once finalised, this plan aims to guide sustainable and equitable use and enjoyment of the Port Phillip foreshore over the next 5-10 years, including waste and litter management. It is a chunky read but you can have your say at Our Coastal Future - Foreshore Management Plan. Feedback closes Sunday 3rd May.

Have the necessary sun protection.

Bring along a tough pair of gloves to protect your hands.

If you find a syringe with a needle, do not put it in your collection bag, please place it in the sharps container.

March 2026 highlights

Look at all those smiling faces. More than sixty volunteers joined us in March. Along with our brilliant regulars, teams from University of Melbourne joined us to remove nearly 50kg of litter from the area around our iconic St Kilda Pier. This makes a huge impact toward protecting local wildlife and freeing our beaches and waterways from plastic litter. This clean was our Clean Up Australia Clean for 2026 so we were part of an Australia wide effort involving over a million people!

Many thanks to Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron for co-hosting this clean up and for welcoming us to the clubhouse afterwards! We love to partner with local groups and businesses.
