An Epidemic with a PandemicAt the end of February, NOCCO was sitting on 1.4 months of prudent reserve. Our expenses average around $9,000 monthly. We were not fiscally sound ... and then the virus hit ... and the meetings closed ... and we isolated ... and our phones started ringing off the hook ... and our website visits increased 2000%. NOCCO has been open daily with traditional business hours: M-F - 9:00 am to 7:00 pm; Weekends - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm; Phones answered 24/7. Since the pandemic started, we speak with wet drunks, dry drunks, meeting secretaries and treasurers, detox facilities, rehabs, Alano Clubs daily. NOCCO has never been needed more than at this time. During these financial difficulties, we ask two things: - Groups: If your treasury is sitting on money beyond its' prudent reserve, please make distributions. Those funds are needed at all levels of general service right now.
- Individuals: If you are in a position to help support the NOCCO facility, please consider contributing $25, $100, $500 or more. No contribution is too big or too small.
The 5th tradition speaks to our primary purpose: to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. We cannot survive this pandemic without personal contributions from the AA membership. Please help if you can. Thank you and be well. Faith Barnese | |
