Southeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (SE PA AHEC) was recently awarded funding through the Temple University Trauma-Informed Workforce Initiative Fund. Earlier this year, Temple University was awarded $3.5 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to train and support trauma-informed, credible messengers to implement COVID-19 prevention and vaccine adherence strategies in their respective communities and populations they serve. SE PA AHEC's efforts will be focused in the city of Chester and surrounding Delaware County. In collaboration with Dr. Kristin Motley, SE PA AHEC Board Member and a leader in vaccine hesitancy work and education in Chester, SE PA AHEC will identify, train, and support outreach workers and community health workers at community based organizations providing COVID-19 vaccine education and outreach efforts. For more information about this effort, contact Christine Polit at cpolit@sepaahec.org. |
