Alexis envisioned this music video—like the rest of the album—to be as open and universal as possible in its interpretation. In Every Terms, which has emerged as a fan favorite, delves into the idea of unseen forces shaping reality. The video was crafted to reflect that ambiguity—the space between consciousness and the unconscious, the realm where existence begins even before birth. A 360-degree camera plays a pivotal role in the storytelling, serving as a metaphor for a child’s presence in a family before conception and the emotional storm that comes with expecting a newborn. At the same time, it symbolizes Alexis’ journey as a filmmaker—an artistic leap into directing cinematic work, embracing perspectives from every angle. Dance has always been a source of inspiration, and after witnessing Shantala Pèpe’s performance in Rafales—which later earned the SACD Choreography Prize—it became clear that a collaboration was inevitable. Her work resonated deeply, exploring themes of human ambivalence, migration, and solidarity through dance and physical theater. When approached, she immediately joined the project, adding another profound layer to the film. The development of this project spanned three years, from concept to completion, a particularly intense process given its self-produced nature. This journey has been an incredible fusion of music and film, forming a deeply personal statement. Seeing In Every Terms resonate with so many people validates the years of dedication, and 22 for Silicon Alone is eager to continue pushing creative boundaries in future projects. The album "Only Dark Matters", reissued in March 2023 via Epictronic Records, defies conventions by replacing traditional rock instrumentation with violin and baritone saxophone, blending metal, classical, and electronic elements. This experimental approach is mirrored in the video’s surreal aesthetic, designed to immerse viewers in a hypnotic, dreamlike experience. A heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone involved, near or far, whose dedication and talent helped bring this project to life. This journey has been humbling, and 22 for Silicon Alone is deeply grateful for each contributor's trust, creativity, and hard work. |
