Hello EAC Community,

As we look ahead to 2026, we want to share an important update — and extend a clear invitation to employers across California.

On Friday, October 3, 2025, the longstanding support relationship between the California Employer Advisory Council (CEAC) and the Employment Development Department (EDD) changed due to state budget cuts

That said, this change has directly impacted chapters that were historically run by EDD personnel, requiring many to reevaluate their structure and operations moving forward.

Importantly, EAC-OC is not impacted by this change.

The Employers Advisory Council of Orange County (EAC-OC) has always operated independently, led by business professionals and employment lawyers — not funded or managed by EDD personnel. Because of this structure, our chapter remains fully operational, stable, and positioned for continued growth in 2026 and beyond.

We are also proud to welcome Robert Claudio, recently retired EDD Deputy Division Chief, to the EAC-OC Board of Directors. Rob’s deep leadership experience and institutional knowledge help ensure that our chapter’s relationship with EDD remains strong, informed, and collaborative, even as the broader support structure shifts.

Prior to his retirement, Rob also served as Vice Chair of the Orange County Workforce Development Board, further strengthening his ties to employers and workforce partners throughout the region. His well-rounded perspective and longstanding connection to the employer community bring meaningful value to EAC-OC’s ongoing initiatives and statewide mission.
