11 Local Minimum Wage Ordinances Poised to Increase on July 1, 2024

The local minimum wage will increase on July 1, 2024 in the following locations in California:

Please take special note that the increased City of Los Angeles minimum wage is one cent higher than the corresponding minimum wage in unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County.  Employers can use this website to determine if their location is within the City of Los Angeles.

In total, 40 localities in California have passed their own minimum wage ordinances that are at varying levels and increase at different times in the year.  Employers must ensure they pay the higher of the California state and any applicable local minimum wage. Employers with questions about the July 1, 2024 increases or other local minimum wage laws, may contact the authors of this Update or their usual counsel.
