As usual, we are beginning the year with one of our most popular programs – our annual New Laws presentation. Once again, top attorney, R. Craig Scott, will join us to provide his in-depth annual review of new laws, key legislative changes, and other important information to guide you through 2023 and beyond. As always, many of the year’s new laws will significantly impact employers. Here are just a few of the areas that Craig will cover during his presentation: - AB 1949 – Bereavement Leave – employees must be granted up to five days of leave upon the death of a family member – learn who is covered and whetherthe leave must be paid.
- AB 1041 -CFRA Family Care Leave and Paid Sick Leave - Now expanded to include a “designated person”.
- AB 1632 – Restroom Access – Under certain circumstances, outsiders may have to be allowed access to private company toilet facilities.
- SB 1044 – Provides protections for employees refusing to report to orchoosing to leave a workplace considered unsafe.
- SB 1160 – Requires new pay data reporting for certain employers.
- SB 1162 – New pay scale disclosure requirements are mandated for existing employees.
