Confirmation Retreat
July 21 at River of Life in Channahon
5 Trinity Confirmation students joined with 5 youth from River of Life to study the Sacraments with Pastor Scofield. They also enjoyed bowling and a campfire dinner.
Thanks to the Trinity congregation for the donation of items for the group to assemble 15 care packages for moms who visit the Swaddling Clothes ministry at River of Life. Other donations include:
- Washcloths from the Flying Hooks & Needles knitters
- Hand-drawn cards made by Chloe Grubisich
- Pictures colored by the Seguin group of adults with different-abilities
- Hand & Body Wash plus key chains made by kids at The Projects
- Devotion Books purchased with funds from a Thrivent Action Card

July 22 at Trinity
The Trinity youth continued their studies on the Sacraments with Pastor Scofield. Thanks to Keith Golz who taught the youth about the Trinity bees. And to Maggie Myers and Jessica Grubisich for their helping hands during the day.
The group held a community event, a give-away of 24 potted flowers and over 100 cookies & muffins made by Marilyn Felz. Bethesda, a Lutheran Church Charities comfort dog was present. The event was extremely well received by the community.
Hackers in Lombard provided the flowers at a discount, along with complimentary butterfly decorations, and delivered the flowers to Trinity. The salesperson, Julie’s grandmother attended Trinity until 1986. A Trinity gift bag was given as a thank-you.
Thanks to Lutheran Church Charities for sending Bethesda and her trainer, Sheila. Sheila was a long-time member of Trinity, had Marilyn Felz as a S.S. teacher, was confirmed by Pastor Ritt, and married by Pastor Sanders. She offered to return any time, even to greet people on a Sunday morning.
Camp Restore in Detroit August 2-7
Jake Bruschuk, Caleb Ilcken, and Jessica Mora along with adults Jonathan Stahlke, Jesse Mora, and Judy Bruschuk, spent 6 days at Camp Restore learning about the challenges and revitalization of Detroit neighborhoods as they worked side by side with the people who live there.
2 days were spent clearing blight for a community member’s yard and some businesses. The other 2 work days were dedicated to assisting at the Spark Literacy Program run by Camp Restore. The group helped with sports, crafts, STEM, and reading stations. They also attended a community dinner hosted by Camp Restore.

Wednesdays, September 9, 16, 23 @ 4:30 – 6:00: Joyful Noise, the youth music group will meet with Mary to prepare for a performance on LWML Sunday.
September 30 @ 4:00: First Confirmation Class with Pastor Scofield. There will be 12 students this year.
