Always Growing in Christ

From Broken to Beautiful:

The Restoring Power of the Creator

The Brain is an amazing thing! tI is raelly a remarkable thing. It nac raed somthnig as msesed up as this. It makes corretcions as ew raed. Itcanevenreadthingsthatdifferentfromwhatweareusedto.

But as remarkable as the brain is, the One who made the brain is even more remarkable. He sees what we can be, not what we have been. He takes broken and messed up lives, and makes them better. He forgives and restores broken and fractured relationships, by first restoring our relationship with the Creator. The One who made us, sent His Only Begotten Son to die for us, that we are forgiven, and are also able to forgive others.

During the Easter season our first reading each week, is from the Book of Acts, and we hear what happens in the Church in the years following Jesus’ return to the Father. It is not a perfect Church, but it is a forgiven Church. It is a Church shaped by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, filled by the power of the Holy Spirit; a Church no longer bound by the Ceremonial law of the Old Testament but bound together by the Love of Christ.

That love was what made them different! It was evident to the people around them. It set them apart from the religious leaders of the day. They followed the teaching of Jesus, and lived in the forgiveness and forgiving lives
given to them from the cross. Filled with the Spirit, they proclaimed the Good News to a broken world. In Christ the relationship with the God who made us is restored, renewed and rebuilt. He can put the pieces back together in our lives. He can unjumble the twisted order that has gone wrong with us. He shows us love beyond our understanding and gives peace to sooth the troubled heart.

What a wonderful God that created us! What a remarkable Saviour who redeemed us! What an amazing Spirit who fills us with faith that we might receive the gifts of God!

Trinity Call Committee Update

From the initial list of pastoral candidates received from the District, there was one person interviewed who is a potential fit. We are keeping them as a consideration and asked the District for additional candidates, so we can have some options to consider. We have just received a new list, and with the help of our Circuit Visitor and Pastor Allyn, the committee will identify more viable candidates to present to the congregation.
As always, if there are any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with Sue Lotter (630-710-2754, slotter123@gmail.com) or any of the Call Committee members.

Spend Some Time at the Turquoise Table

You might have noticed the Turquoise Table on the front lawn. The table was built by the kids at The Projects to provide a place for Trinity members to connect with the people in the community.

We are encouraging you to spend some time at the table to help complete this mission.

You’re welcome to just drop by and sit at the table at any time. If you’d like to sign up for a specific time it will help others know when to come to the table. Sign up for one time, or on a regular basis, and stay as long as you’d like. There will be a calendar for this in the Narthex and a QR code as well.

While you’re at the table don’t be discouraged if no one walks by. Or if no one sits with you. Enjoy the gift of time at the table. You’ll be surprised what you notice.

There is a Turquoise Table basket available for you to use when sitting at the table. It contains things you can share with others – water, snacks, prayer books, and Trinity bracelets.

Thanks to Tony Pavlovsky who designed, helped build, and paint the table with a bunch of crazy kids!

The first 10 people who sign up get a free turquoise bracelet made by Natalie Bruschuk!

Stewardship News

Trinity has been blessed many times this past year. Our financial position at the end of 2025 was $36,912.96 in net income. We have savings of $36K and a CD of $100K. Our investments include stock and the Foundation account. At the end of March, the stock value was $55.6K and the LCMS Foundation
account was $372.7K. During March, Trinity repaid the final amount of $35K borrowed from our Foundation account in 2020. Our Schlechte account has a balance of $35,750.54. The accumulated interest in the Schlechte account is $14,256.54 and represents the amount available to support someone seeking a degree in church work. Our outstanding loan from LCEF has a balance of $76,083.77 at the end of April.
Trinity continues to support our missions: English District LCMS, Adult Christian Care, Outreach House, Voice Of Care and Lutheran Church Charities. Rev. Jonathan and Deaconess Cheryl Naumann, our English District Missionaries in the Dominican Republic, are retiring at the end of August. Trinity will be selecting another LCMS missionary to support. Trinity sent the spring tuition payment of $1,500 to Ft. Wayne Seminary in support of Reece Parlier, our Adopt A Student.
The Adopt A Bill program continues to support our ongoing expenses and building upkeep. Our 2nd Quarter donations will help with the electric ($8K/year) and AT&T ($6K/year) expenses.
The Stewardship Board is available to answer any questions you may have. Please reach out to Shelly Bychowski, Debra Banks, Bonnie Dale and Rhonda Halpin
