Message from Interim Executive Director,Β
Hannah Nentakpeh Mckay

Since my appointment in December, it has been a great opportunity to work with other dedicated and passionate leaders, including the B4YT Board of Directors.

As part of our mission - Empowering young people to become educated citizens through the arts - we are currently working with sixty (60) students from two schools in Bong County. Our footprint is strategically placed in Gbarnga, which is centrally located, and at the Fallah Mission, in Kpaii District. Additionally, the B4YT has secured a national office with training facilities in Gbarnga, Bong County, though the building needs renovation.

The geographical location of Gbarnga made it an ideal location for this training space. As a result, school-going children and youth who are interested in the arts and/or want a platform to showcase their talent will have more opportunity.During both vocational and regular school hours, B4YT plans to have a well-functioning office and training space with educational programs in drama, music, and dance.

By exposing these children to the arts, we hope to have a tremendous impact on their lives as they grow and mature. A dream like this is possible, and it sets a high standard for humanity.

Please consider supporting this initiative by contributing to this fundraising process so we can continue to support our mission of contributing to the educational system in Mama Liberia in a new way.

HELP US RENOVATE

We partially opened our office space in Gbarnga City in January. Our new space has been designed with the goal of increasing enrollment, so we have introduced a role for youth volunteers. Activities will be run by volunteers in the office after they have been trained. We have installed iron doors, inside locks, and painted the interior of the facility. We purchased a locally made table, two chairs, six plastic chairs, and curtains for the windows.Β

WE NEED YOUR HELP:Β We are currently raising funds to extend electricity to the rehearsal space. Additionally, we are raising funds to get a WiFi router for better internet service and furniture for our office and classroom.

WE'VE BEEN ACCREDITED!

We have been accredited to conduct civic voter education by the National Election Commission. Hopefully, we will be able to obtain sponsorship in order to fully participate in the elections this year.

CELEBRATING PARTNERSHIP

In October 2022, we began discussing partnering with Mission of Hope ICF School, in Folah Bong County. In our first quarter, we began classes and used online enrollment for the first time.

Our pioneer partner, Community House Elementary School, continues to run the club twice a week. Currently, there are 32 students in the B4 Youth School club at the school. In addition to drama and music, our staff helped establish a school choir.
