Since I’ve been mostly homebound because of my recent knee replacement, I’ve been reflecting a lot on gratitude and on being more thankful. I’ve also been thinking about the persecuted in prison, or other people who are homebound because of health issues. Philippians 1:9-10 says, “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…” Have I been loving others well or more focused on my own struggles?

The Hootenanny Still Needs You

Even though we’ve sold out the event, there are a number of ways that you can help us raise the funds we need to support our residents and horses, and also cover other expenses on the ranch over the next 12 months.

This year you can reserve your spot to join the event virtually. Here is the link to reserve your spot, which is free. We encourage you to purchase an event booklet for $5. If you order by 9/20, you should receive the booklet in the mail in time for our 9/27 event.

The event booklet, in addition to acting as a guide to the live event, covers the highlights of the last 12 months and the impact Blazing Hope Ranch has been able to have on the lives of so many. If you are a “numbers” person, you’ll be pleased at the detail provided in our event booklet.

Even if you don’t plan to attend in person or virtually, please consider purchasing the booklet so that you can get an overview of what the Lord has accomplished this year.

Answered Prayer: Praise God for the hiring of our new Executive Director, Debbie Indermuehle. We believe that God has uniquely anointed her to lead the ranch into a new era of expansion.

Praises for the financial ability to finally be able to pay our staff competitive wages. We are grateful to the many people who previously chose to take lower pay in order to help us.

Praise God for a sold out Hootenanny this year. We greatly appreciate the work of the many dedicated volunteers who made this possible.

Please pray for my other knee replacement surgery, which is scheduled for early October. Please pray that my healing and rehabilitation would be rapid, so that I can return to my full responsibilities on the ranch and as a mom.

Please continue to pray for Debbie as she begins her work as Executive Director.

Please be in prayer for our 2024 Hootenanny and auction. This is the main fundraiser for our mission, and we are looking to cover a substantial percentage of our annual expenses with this event.
