He works justice for those who are pressed down by the world, providing food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are imprisoned; He makes the blind see. He lifts up those whose backs are bent in labor; He cherishes those who do what is right. (Psalm 146:7-8)

April

Spring is a time of transformation, representing God’s transformational work in our spirits. The song, “Springtime,” by Chris Renzema, speaks to this so well (this link will take you to a display of the lyrics on YouTube). I pray that you yield to God’s transformational work in your life.

Now grab a cup of coffee and find out what we've been up to!

Horses Update!

Catch up on our horses! We currently have eight horses on the ranch. Every horse that comes to us is a rescue, and each has a unique story. We recently updated our website with photos and stories of each horse. Peanut will make your heart melt, and Sterling (pictured above) is drop-dead gorgeous! If you visit our Facebook page and scroll down, you'll find some other photos and "introductions" of our wonderful horses.

New Resident!

A new resident has joined us as of April 22nd. Please be in prayer that she would let the Holy Spirit invade her life and help her with the hard work of healing from her trauma.

Camp Run Free - Help Prevent Trafficking and Drug Addiction

I’m pleased to report that Christ Covenant PCA of Knoxville will staff our Camp Run Free camp in Rhea County this year!  We are still looking for volunteers for our Pikeville camp, which runs from June 10th through the 14th. These camps are designed to prevent kids from being trafficked.

Research shows us that kids who don’t understand their intrinsic value, or who don't have a support network, are vulnerable to people who want to exploit them. Help our kids be strong in Christ by volunteering. Horse skills are not required!

Building a Firm Foundation

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, the Board of Directors is helping David and me to focus on taking our mission to the next level. With that in mind, the board hired a consultant to help us identify the skills we will need to help us move forward.

The first decision towards this goal is to hire a full time Executive Director. This allows me to focus solely on programming and general operations while David grows in his career while continuing in various volunteer tasks within the Ranch.

Family Corner

Praise God that Josiah got an insulin pump! Please be in prayer that he will adjust and that it will work as intended.

David has a new job with the State of Tennessee, helping colleges and universities that are struggling to maintain compliance with the state standards by offering tools, strategies and training. This is an exciting time in the Haggard family!

Answered Prayer: Praises that Josiah got his insulin pump!

Praise God for our new horse mentor volunteers (but we could always use more. Comfort around horses is helpful, but not necessary.)

We thank God for Christ Covenant’s commitment to help us with one of our Run Free camps.

What Makes Kids Vulnerable To Trafficking?

There are some common factors that make kids vulnerable to trafficking; this is what our camps are designed to prevent. Learn more at this link.

Prayer Pardn'rs

Please pray for our newest resident, that she will easily adjust to life on the ranch and that she will persevere.

Please pray for wisdom for the consultant team, myself, David, and the Board of Directors as we look to move our mission to the next level.

Please pray that volunteers would step forward to help with the Pikeville camp.

Please pray that our horse mentoring partnerships, which are up and running again, would be impactful.
