He works justice for those who are pressed down by the world, providing food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are imprisoned; He makes the blind see. He lifts up those whose backs are bent in labor; He cherishes those who do what is right. (Psalm 146:7-8)

March

We've had a couple of challenges in the last few weeks involving residents. But instead of feeling stressed or anxious, I've been blessed to experience so much peace in these uncertain situations. I'm in complete awe that I can ask the Lord for help and He answers - and I get to be in relationship with Him! I pray that you are finding peace in the Lord as well.

Now grab a cup of coffee and find out what we've been up to!

Spring is Here and Horse Mentoring Has Resumed !

As the snow has melted and the sun is out more, we've brought our horses to their regular pastures and put them back on mentoring duty. This is helpful for everyone, since our residents will now spend more time out of doors and interacting with the horses, both of which are very healing activities. We may still need volunteers to help with the horse mentoring, so please contact me at blazinghopetn@gmail.com if you are interested.

Meet Becca!

Becca has become indispensable on the ranch. She first learned about our ministry while attending Bryan College, where she volunteered with a group to do various tasks on the ranch, such as mailings and clean-up. She was impressed with our mission, and when we ran into one another at a Christmas dinner in 2021, she let me know she wanted to do more.

I reached out to Becca a few months later to help with one of our Camp Run Free camps, and she and her husband did a great job.  Shortly after the camp, Becca volunteered to work with the horses and residents twice a week in our horse mentoring program (she's pictured here with Fellina), and she had so much fun, she was sorry to see the program end in November (we pause horse mentoring through winter). When I had a staff opening, she was the first person I thought of, and I was so grateful that she said yes. We're currently training her for more responsible positions on the ranch; meanwhile, as we bring our horses back out for mentoring duties, Becca plans to volunteer again to help. Becca not only just had her birthday, but she and her husband just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Congratulations, Becca!

Hay Expenses

We need one of these huge rolls of hay, costing $60 per roll, every one to two weeks to feed our horses. Like everything else these days, the cost for hay has gone up. While we are not able to accept donations OF hay, we would be grateful to accept donations FOR hay! If you'd like to help out, please click on this link and specify that you want your donation to be used for hay purchases. Our horses will thank you!

Resident Vegetable Garden

We are so grateful for the efforts of Silas (Becca's husband), the landscape director at Bryan College, for volunteering to oversee our residents' efforts to create and maintain a vegetable garden at the ranch.  As you can see from this photo of Bryan College, Silas knows what he's doing!

Here's an easy way to support our residents financially while purchasing something you might buy anyway: an Easter lily. There are four pick-up locations to make it easy (two are in Dayton). You can use this link or use the QR code at left to navigate to the website for more information or to purchase your Easter lily.

Answered Prayer: Praise God that we have six beds full for the first time at the ranch. Praise also that our Restoration Reins initiative is beginning to bear fruit, and we are partnering with other non-profits.

Hotels Can Help Fight Human Trafficking

Read how Marriot CEO, Anthony Capuano, is spearheading a movement in the hotel industry to fight human trafficking.

Prayer Pardn'rs

Please pray for help with the various additional expenses we have with the horses. In addition to hay, we are looking for fly masks for the horses' heads to protect them from bites. You can click the "Donate" button below and specify how your gift is to be used in the note section.

Please pray that we would partner with more churches who want to help us in our mission. We will be visiting a supporting church in Virginia; David and I have also begun discussions with two other churches to partner with us. We would be happy to come to your church and share what we do here.

Help us in our mission!

Would you be willing to join our Freedom Wranglers? Freedom Wranglers support our mission with monthly donations. Please click on the Donate button to support the important work we do to restore wholeness to female survivors of human trafficking, and to weaken the sex trade through the power of Christ. Your monthly donation of as little as $10 per month can help a resident begin a new life.

Would you consider hosting a meeting with your philanthropically-minded friends? We would be happy to visit your home and make a brief presentation about our mission to people you think would like to support us financially.

Do you have a friend (or friends) who would also be willing to pray for us? If so, please forward this email to them or post this email on your social media account.

Want to read a past newsletter? You can find them all here.

Finally, let us know what you think (and please feel free to unsubscribe using the link below if you don't want future newsletters). We'll look forward to hearing from you!
