He works justice for those who are pressed down by the world, providing food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are imprisoned; He makes the blind see. He lifts up those whose backs are bent in labor; He cherishes those who do what is right. (Psalm 146:7-8)

December

Romans 12:12 reminds us: Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. In the middle of a season of overwhelm, I rejoice in hope. My prayer is that you can also rejoice in the hope of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as we remember His birth this coming December 25th.

Now grab a cup of coffee and find out what we've been up to!

Please Pray for Josiah

We spent Thanksgiving  Day with our son, Josiah, at the hospital, where he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We are struggling now with changes in his diet and with teaching Josiah how to understand and pay attention to his blood glucose levels. Josiah was given a "diabetic" teddy bear (pictured) to practice on.

Please also pray for our family as we deal with this challenging adjustment.

Volunteers on the Ranch!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who have spent time helping to make the ranch work better. Groups from Bryan College, Lee University and Cumberland Fellowship have helped us move our horses to their winter pasture (so that we can re-seed the main one), repaired gates, spread gravel, cleaned leaves out of our dry lot, and refaced and roofed many of our outbuildings. You make hope real!

Give the Gift of HOPE

Do your friends and family really need more stuff? Our residents need HOPE: Healing, Opportunity, Protection and Education (this is what the H.O.P.E. in HOPE Haven stands for). Consider giving HOPE Haven a year-end gift in the name of the friend who has everything. (Please accept our apologies that you'll need to make up your own certificate for the gift.)

In Memoriam: Grace

We remember our pony, Grace, who was in her early thirties by the time of her passing last month. She connected most with residents who had physical problems, and with those who were able to be very calm around her. We name areas of the ranch after our animals who have passed; we'll soon be selecting an area to name after Grace.

Grace

Answered Prayer: Praise God for the readers of this newsletter who stepped forward to adopt a resident for Christmas gifts this year. Almost everything they wished for was purchased. While it's too late to purchase a specific gift for a resident, it's not too late to support the work of this mission.

Prayer Pardn'rs

We thank God for the many volunteers who, in addition to all the improvements on the ranch, helped us get ready for the winter season.

Please pray for our residents as they navigate what is often a painful holiday season. Pray that new, joyful memories would be created this Christmas. Please also pray that our newest resident enjoys a smooth transition to life on the Ranch.

Help us in our mission!

Would you be willing to give up one or more coffees each month to support us? Join our "Freedom Wranglers" by clicking on the Donate button to support the important work we do to restore wholeness to female survivors of human trafficking, and to weaken the sex trade through the power of Christ. Your monthly donation of as little as $10 per month can help a resident begin a new life.

Do you have a friend (or friends) who would also be willing to pray for us? If so, please forward this email to them or post this email on your social media account.
