He works justice for those who are pressed down by the world, providing food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are imprisoned; He makes the blind see. He lifts up those whose backs are bent in labor; He cherishes those who do what is right. (Psalm 146:7-8)

October

I've been reading Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence, and I've been reflecting on how God is with us even in the most mundane things, not just when in prayer and meditation. I pray that you practice His presence in every moment of your own life.

Now grab a cup of coffee and find out what we've been up to!

2022 Hootenanny Was A Success!

We met our goal of raising $50,000 for supporting the ranch this year, with $48,000 raised at the event itself and a few thousand given shortly thereafter. We couldn't have done this without help from so many; please visit this link to see more information and photos from the event.

We are also looking to complete a "wish list" of items for the ranch, including a larger refrigerator as we add residents (see below), a new dryer and a propane grill, among other items. If you'd like to help, reply to this email or message us on our Facebook page.

Meet Our New Case Manager!

Andrea makes it possible for us to take on two more residents! There just wasn’t enough time in a day to meet the case needs of each resident in addition to running the daily programming designed to help with their healing and growth. Now we have someone who can focus solely on this important work, thus enabling us to open two more beds on the ranch!

Andrea

I've known Andrea since before David and I started the Ranch and knew she had significant case management experience. I also knew she had been most recently focused on raising her kids; she's an epic mom--there's a 13 year span between her 19-year-old son and her 6-year-0ld daughter. However, God kept bringing her name up whenever I prayed for the right person. She's a "Christmas" fanatic; she used to sing in a Christian rock band; and  her jeep is all decked out with Christmas stuff year-round. Andrea has been doing case management work since 1999, so we are both blessed and grateful to have her on board. We look forward to welcoming two more residents to the ranch soon.

Goings On At The Ranch

Hootenanny attendees got a first look at our plan for the upcoming year, complete with storyboards and a history of the Ranch. Meanwhile, we've updated information about the Ranch on our website; take a look at an overview shot along with photos of various locations on our property.

Resident Started A Business

One of our residents has started her own business on the ranch creating jar candles. She calls her business, "Candles of Hope," and she's looking to sell these candles to support her expenses, here and after she leaves the Ranch. You can see examples of her handiwork in the photo.

Stay tuned; we hope to provide a link on our website if you'd like to purchase your own candle in time for Christmas!

Answered Prayer: Praise God that the Hootenanny was a success! There are too many people to thank here, but you can visit our website for the complete list along with photos.

Prayer Pardn'rs

We are also grateful to have two new board members, to help guide the Ranch as we grow.

Please pray for the right replacement for a part-time staff member.  Please also pray that God would lead two more women to begin their healing journey with us. We are looking at referrals now.

Help us in our mission!

Would you be willing to give up one or more coffees each month to support us? Join our "Freedom Wranglers" by clicking on the Donate button to support the important work we do to restore wholeness to female survivors of human trafficking, and to weaken the sex trade through the power of Christ. Your monthly donation of as little as $10 per month can help a resident begin a new life.

Do you have a friend (or friends) who would also be willing to pray for us? If so, please forward this email to them or post this email on your social media account.

No country is untouched by human trafficking, which mostly affects women and girls.
