Ongoing Projects - Offshore Wind Feasibility Study Series

Work on the offshore wind spatial assessment continues. Several technically viable sites have provisionally been identified. These are currently being cross checked against a range of constraints using information from the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Plan. We hope to conclude the spatial planning work by the end of August.
Greenrock has also commissioned BVG Associates to undertake a Desktop Wind Resource Assessment. This will follow industry standard practices to establish the nature of Bermuda's wind resource, which will improve estimates of offshore wind turbine energy production and energy costs. The study will consider local historical wind data and global wind datasets, and will provide the best estimate of wind resource possible without commissioning a full LIDAR study.
