Off Road Desert Jeep Tour KC will be guiding an off road desert tour on November 5th. This is a 2 hour tour leaving at 4pm, arrive and check into 8711 East Pinnacle Peak Rd Suite F-108 Scottsdale AZ, 85255 no later than 3:45. Tour is $100.00 per person, water is provided but you can bring other things. To book call 480-473-5015 you must mention that you are with KC and the Shangri La Ranch Group as this is a special group rate available only for the first 14 people. Lodge Bathroom The bathroom and shower behind the Lodge will be closed Monday October 4th thru Sunday October 10th for remodeling.
Pot Luck Potlucks are back starting on Tuesday the 5th at 6pm. Bring a dish to share, serving utensils for your dish, and anything else you need to eat such as plates and your own utensils. Remember these start promptly at 6pm so being early is best. Bare Buns Desert Run Our annual 5k run/walk is on October 16th, check-in begins at 7:30 am and the run starts at 8am. This is a trail run, it is not flat and goes through the wash and on the memorial trail; open to all runners and walkers. Sign up can be done using the link below. Day of signup will be available but runners perks (shirt, bag, any other giveaways) are subject to availability. Pumpkin Decorating/Carving Contest On Saturday, October 30th bring a decorated Pumpkin to the clubhouse at 2pm for display and judging. Decoration suggestions include Painting, Carving, Bedazzling, and anything else you can think of. Remember we are a family friendly facility and all decorating needs to be family friendly. Fall Baking Contest In addition to the pumpkin decorating contest we will also be hosting a fall baking competition. All entries need to have a fall ingredient/theme to them; think apples, cinnamon, pumpkins etc. Bring your baked goods to the clubhouse on Saturday October 30th at 2pm to be judged.
Halloween Dance and Costume Contest Our annual Halloween costume dance and contest will be on Saturday October 30 starting at 8pm. We will be awarding prizes to the best couple, best group, and overall most unique/original. The black lights will be on for the dance so if you would like to incorporate a “glowing” aspect to your costume you’re most welcome to. When deciding on a costume keep in mind we are a family friendly facility and all costumes need to be in good taste; if you are questioning if your costume is appropriate or not it probably is not. Thanksgiving Potluck There will be a Thanksgiving Potluck again this year. Pat & Fran will be making the Turkeys and mashed potatoes. The sign-up sheet will be in the clubhouse in early November.
