3 ideas for your first English lessons

Hey teacher! πŸ‘‹

The new academic year is just around the corner, so it’s time to get ready for your first lessons πŸ˜‰ We have prepared three games for different age groups and levels. Use them to create a friendly atmosphere in class!

Guess the Emoji

Each student needs to describe themselves using a set of emojis. You show it to the other students, and they have to tell a story about the person based on these symbols.

For example, such a set of emojis πŸ’ŠπŸ©/ πŸ“š/ 🐈/ 🍰 means β€œI am working at a hospital; my favourite pastime is reading books. I have two cats and adore sweets.”

When I Grow Up…

Ask your adult students what profession they dreamt of as children, whether they are close to their desire, and what they are doing for it. You can start first πŸ˜‰

Word Scramble

Divide the participants into teams and ask them to guess the words with jumbled letters. Use a letter randomiser tool for preparation.

✏️ Examples: morning β€” onrmign, weekends β€” ewdeskne.

The game will help reinforce vocabulary and promote closer acquaintance.
