Everyone knows this teaching mantra that instructions should be simple and graded, students' activity should be monitored actively and closely and that feedback on tasks should be snappy and useful.

We often treat these steps of a task (instructions, monitoring and feedback) as somewhat disconnected classroom routines, which might make our teaching mechanical and are likely to lead to lowered student performance. However, if to take a broader look, together they make a task cycle and are viewed as part of a single unit (task), and in this way each of them gets an additional powerful meaning. 

In our 90-minute workshop, we will look at what effective teaching (and planning) decisions to make to ensure a well-connected and meaningful task cycle and:

💭 The speaker is Andrii Pigariev — Academic Director, CELTA Trainer, CELT P/S Trainer.

Andrii is the author of the online self-study "How to Teach IELTS Essays" and "Superb EFL/ESL Classroom Management" courses on the Grade University platform for English teachers.
