Language practice makes up a huge part of any ELT syllabus. Even though modern coursebooks provide a bunch of activities (e.g. controlled and freer practice) to serve this purpose, it is essential to understand how language practice works and how to make it an effective stage in the lesson, which goes beyond the coursebook.
In this workshop, we'll focus on practice stages of language lessons (grammar, vocabulary, functions) and will aim to answer the main questions: |
What makes language practice effective? What range of activities could be employed to help students use new language? How to skillfully manage practice stages?
The workshop will be very helpful for teaching professionals with little and some experience but will also help deepen and structure the language practice system for those being in ELT for quite some time and get their questions answered.
