Hey, Grade Teachers!

Are you ready to set some time aside for professional development? This hot month is full of great events for ESL teachers around the world, and this is the best time to do what you have always lacked time for – to take part in a webinar or conference and gain experience from colleagues from Ukraine and abroad.

We have prepared a selection of superb events in July, so you can take full advantage of free professional development opportunities. Let's dive in!

The teacher training team at Macmillan Education will be squeezing some of the best ideas they have shared throughout the season into 5 back-to-back sessions in the live Advancing Learning: Fast-forward event, and you’re invited!

Each of the 5 sessions will be 10 minutes long, and will contain top 10 tips on one of the following topics: Advancing Students’ Global Skills, Advancing Inclusivity, Advancing Assessment for the Future, Advancing Digital Teaching Skills, and Advancing Teaching Skills

The webinar will be conducted 3 times: on July 8 at 12:00, 17:00, and 23:30 (Kyiv time). Follow this link for details and registration.

📌 Developing reading skills. Practical ideas for: B2 First for Schools, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency

This webinar introduces the new Teacher Guides for developing reading skills. They have been designed to support busy teachers and help them develop and assess their learners’ reading skills in preparation for the B2 First for Schools exams, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.

There will be practical take-away tips, activities and techniques for teachers to try in class, as well as example exam tasks.

The webinar will be conducted 2 times: on July 13 at 11:00 (Kyiv time) and July 15 at 17:00 (Kyiv time). Follow this link for details and registration.

📌 BRAZ-TESOL 17th International Conference

During four days, leading members of the Brazilian ELT community and international colleagues will come together to create a vision of the future in our field. The theme of the 17th BRAZ-TESOL International Conference is "Embracing more of us" and it will allow ELT professionals from within Brazil and guests from abroad to reflect on the importance of connecting their different areas of expertise to further the practice of language teaching and better equip professionals for the 21st century demands. The conference will foster four days of intense learning exchanges between participants and rich networking possibilities for all present at the event.

The conference will take place on July 14-17.  Follow this link for details and registration.

📌 Teaching Reading and Vocabulary to ELLs - Exploring Quizlet and CommonLit

Are you looking for fun ways to help your students with reading or vocabulary? Are you interested in learning about apps your students can use to improve their skills with or without support?

This webinar will focus on the use of two apps: Quizlet for teaching vocabulary and CommonLit for teaching reading. Comprehension is the goal of reading, but it can be the most difficult to master, especially for English language learners in online learning environments. This webinar will explore practical strategies to enhance teaching vocabulary and reading skills.

The webinar will be conducted on July 25. Follow this link for details and registration.

📌 Career Bootcamp - Writing Rousing Resumes

Is a resume really that important when applying for jobs? What exactly should teachers include in their resumes? What can you do to help your resume stand out from the 10, 100, 1000 other applicants?

The webinar will be conducted on July 28. Follow this link for details and registration.

📌 Alternative forms of teacher development

Typically, when our profession thinks of development opportunities, we often default to certification courses, post-graduate programs, and conferences. Without question, these can be valuable modes for a teacher to develop professionally. However, they can have barriers to access that are out of our control. At this event, we’ll explore alternative forms of teacher development practices, such as action research, curriculum planning, reflective practice, and a dialogic approach.

The webinar will be conducted on July 31. Follow this link for details and registration.

Hope, you'll have a productive month!
