IMPORTANT RES and EE SECTOR NEWS

New_Article_9_7

Energy Regulator concluded an agreement with the Finnish company Grexel and the USAID Energy Security Project to develop the Ukrainian electronic register of guarantees of origin of electricity produced from RES.

EUEA has submitted a joint letter to the Regulator to express opposition to the proposed initiative to reduce fines for delayed payments by individual market players. EUEA has also provided its own proposals in response. This initiative raises concerns as it could potentially create an imbalance in the distribution of debt among various groups of market participants, with certain groups remaining subject to unchanged fine amounts. Other RES associations have lent their support to this letter, which is included in the attached newsletter.

The Ukrainian Government has approved the Plan for the Implementation of the Ukraine Facility program, featuring over 100 quarterly indicators for strategic reforms. Notably, energy sector reforms prioritize RES development and energy efficiency. However, EUEA alredy raised the concerns over separating the renewable energy surcharge from the transmission tariff as it was mentioned in the Plan draft. The final text of the document is not published yet.
