⚡️EUEA internal meeting on guarantees of origin took place

EUEA held a round table with the expert of the Energy Community Secretariat (ESC) Naida Taso on the topic of the implementation of guarantees of origin in the EU member states and prospects for their implementation in Ukraine. During the meeting, Naida explained that joining the regional system of the EU countries is possible only through the use of the register developed for each participating country by the Grexel company. The register for Ukraine has already been developed, and in the case of a decision to join the EU system, the relevant issuing body will need to conclude an agreement with Grexel. This register was created taking into account the requirements of the AIB, and the EC Secretariat concluded a memorandum of understanding with the AIB and plans to develop mechanisms for further joining the regional system to the AIB. Ms. Taso also noted that she considers it expedient to gradually introduce guarantees of origin for different types of energy.

Ms. Taso's presentation is attached.

⚡️In Ukraine, the concept of supporting distributed green generation has been developed

Currently, the Ministry of Energy is finalizing a version of the draft law that regulates the activities of prosumers, introduces the Net Billing system (incentives for priority coverage of own needs with generated electricity and the opportunity to sell excess electricity at the market price), and also creates prerequisites for strengthening the security of energy supply.

It is assumed that the facilities of the most important infrastructure can install suitable installations with a capacity of up to 500 kW together with energy storage to serve centralized systems of water supply, drainage, heat supply, medical facilities and the most important multi-apartment buildings. Up to 10 kW will be provided to private farms.

Based on the results of the discussion of the Committee, it was decided to finalize the work on the draft law in the coming days. Details. Resource.

👉🏻Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 95% in March

Ukraine reduced electricity imports in March 2023, compared to the previous month, by 95% - to 7,000 MWh. According to ExPro data, nearly 5.5 thousand MWh were supplied from Slovakia in March, 1.5 thousand MWh from Moldova. In general, the import of electricity to Ukraine remains at an insignificant level, since a surplus has been observed in the energy system during the last month, and there is no need for an additional resource. Resource.

🤝Transmission system operator NPC "Ukrenergo" has removed all network restrictions

On April 3, NPC "Ukrenergo" reported that the generation covers electricity consumption, as well as that there is a sufficient capacity reserve. According to NPC "Ukrenergo", there is no import. At the same time, according to the ENTSO-E Transparency platform, as of April 3, minor imports still remain from Slovakia (1-3 MW). In particular, over the weekend (April 1-2), Ukraine imported a total of over 1,000 MWh from Slovakia. This is due to the favorable situation on the European markets, where the price in the spot segments decreased significantly during this period. Details.

✍🏻 Ukraine is discussing the construction of a power transmission line between Rivne Nuclear Power Plant and Polish Chelm

This will make it possible to increase the throughput capacity of lines to the EU, Petro Kotin, president of Energoatom, said in a comment to the media. According to Kotin, the line from RNPP is one of our most powerful stations and has 4 power units - generating capacity of 2835 MW. Since it is located in the north-west of Ukraine, it is realistic to build a line with the EU there. An investor was found - the Polish company ORLEN, which offered to build such a line under certain conditions. But this issue is currently being discussed - noted the head of Energoatom.
