📨 Artur Lorkovsky's response on guarantees of origin

On August 29, the EUEA received a response letter to the questions mentioned in the previously sent joint letter of the EUEA, UVEA and UAVE dated August 11, 2022 (the letter is attached) regarding the requirements for the national electronic system of guarantees of origin and project status.

💡 The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine published a Draft Law on guarantees of origin

On August 25, 2022, the Ministry of Energy published Draft Law “On the introduction of changes to Certain Laws of Ukraine on creation of the register for issue, use and termination of the guarantees of origin for electricity produced from renewable energy sources”, which defines the provisions and basis for the creation and operation of the register of GO

The explanatory note says about "designating the transmission system operator, NPC "Ukrenergo",  as an entity authorized to issue guarantees of origin of electricity produced from RES and establishing the legal basis for the creation and operation of the registry of GO."

According to the Draft Law GOs are issued in electronic form for the actual volume of electricity delivered to the network or consumed (for internal consumption) on condition that respective renewable generating facility (or generation equipment installed by the consumer) is registered in the register.GOs are issued in electronic form for the actual volume of electricity delivered to the network or consumed (for internal consumption) on condition that respective renewable generating facility (or generation equipment installed by the consumer) is registered in the register. GOs for renewable electricity produced by the entities getting the state support (via feed-in tariff scheme or auction scheme) will be automatically issued for the benefit of the state (represented by the Guaranteed Buyer). The Guaranteed Buyer will transfer such GOs to the buyers of renewable electricity (buying electricity under bilateral contracts) selling remaining volumes via auctions. More details.

💲NPC "Ukenergo" signed an agreement on a new tranche of financial assistance from the EBRD in the amount of 97 million euros

On August 26, 2022, on its resources  NPC "Ukrenergo" reported that it «attracts international financing to help maintain stable operation of the electricity market and the development of "green" energy in Ukraine» the funds will be used for measures to balance the power system, in particular, to settle payments with RES producers.

☢️ IAEA mission on its way to Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

On August 29, Rafael Grossi reported: «We must protect the safety and security of Ukraine’s and Europe’s biggest nuclear facility. Proud to lead this mission which will be in ZNPP later this week».
