Club Day

Sunday 25 November from 10am

This is a fun day to wrap up the year and is open to all current members whether or not you are currently attending training.

There will be a variety of fun competitions. Be  prepared for a mixture of speed, dexterity, skill, fancy dress and owner/dog look alike competitions! Every dog is guaranteed a prize. A BBQ will be operating and we will also be awarding annual trophies for best in each grade (see more below).

Mark it in your diary now!

Rally O Event & Practice

Central All Breeds Dog Training Club are holding a Rally-O event on Saturday 24 November. Rally O is best described as hybrid of agility and obedience.

To inspire Wellington Canine Obedience members to have a go at entering, on Wednesday 7 November (7.30pm) a Rally-O course will be set up for members to have a go and instruction will be provided.

This is sure to be great fun so come along.

Opportunity for Animals

The Opportunity for Animals op-shops are charity stores fundraising for animals in need and a project of the Animal Protection Society. They sell good quality secondhand clothing and household goods. The Miramar store has a number of pet related products (bedding and toys) at great prices so why not support their cause and treat your pet at the same time. They often have free tug toys available too (1 per dog).

Pets & Guy Fawkes

Guy Fawkes can be a fun time for us, but loud noises and flashes can seem scary for pets and have them looking to us for safety. It's a time when pets can be so scared they hurt themselves, or are frightened away from home.

Click here for information on spotting signs of stress and tips on relaxing your pets.

Dogs & Wildlife Talk

Laura Boren from Department of Conservation gave a talk to member on 23 September at our club rooms on both how to protect wildlife from our dogs and vice versa.

She has left us material in our club rooms which are free for you to take.

I was asked by attendees if we could have copies of her slides which I have linked here for you all to view.

Caution - there are photos of wildlife injured by dogs which some may find confronting.
