Dear Builder

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Summer has made its grand exit, and guess what? We're back, fully charged, and so ready for fall! πŸ‚ You know, it's that time of year... Falling leaves, steaming cups of your favorite brew, those snug cinema nights... and lots of programs and events right around the corner!

But before we jump headfirst into the busiest time of the year (at least here at BGI), we decided our newsletter needed a fresh, new look!

We're still your go-to source for all things ecosystem updates, alumni stories, opportunities for innovators, and loads of sustainable content. And we're still coming to you twice a month, but now, with a little more pizzazz. ✨

We hope you're as excited as we are to keep this journey going!

Until we meet again,

The BGI Team

Sustainability in Action

Last Friday, EIT Urban Mobility and BGI held the first Park(ing) Day in Lisbon, marking the beginning of European Mobility Week. Two parking spaces in AlcΓ’ntara were transformed with an artificial grass carpet, a table and a bookshelf with books donated by the community. Activities included a picnic, a children's book workshop, discussions on urban planning and urban agriculture, and a bicycle repair workshop. This event allowed citizens to temporarily reclaim the city, sparking dialogue about how cities are designed and built.

The initiative was supported by Lisboa E-Nova, Rede DLBC, Hortas LX, Cicloficina da Junqueira, BLX - Bibliotecas de Lisboa, Junta de Freguesia de AlcΓ’ntara e CΓ’mara Municipal de Lisboa.
