May 2017 Updates

Now that the redemption event has concluded, things are moving forward briskly. RChain representatives Greg, Ed, and Navneet will be in New York City the week of May 22nd for multiple conferences and events spreading Rchain's innovations, roadmap and message. In this newsletter we will share with you updates from all over the growing RChain ecosystem. 

  May 24th "Intro to RChain" Meetup

 If Bitcoin is "blockchain 1.0" and Ethereum is "blockchain 2.0", what's next? These wonderfully innovative platforms unfortunately have issues with privacy, scalability, cost, and latency. The RChain project is creating a decentralized compute infrastructure for smart contracts that addresses these and other requirements.

May 24th-25th: "Token Summit 2017" 

Token Summit is the first event that will explore the economics, regulation and best practices around blockchain-based tokens, protocols, and crypto-assets. Some of the topics will be token based business models, token protocols and platforms, distribution mechanics and much more.

Greg Meredith explains RChain on Coin Interview

Coin Interview recently interviewed Lucius Gregory Meredith, lead developer of RChain. Greg explained the idea behind RChain: to create a scalable blockchain with transaction speeds similar to those of Visa and a low-energy proof of work consensus algorithm.

He described RChain’s two kinds of formal verification, which will catch software bugs like the one that made the DAO heist possible. He explained how RChain will make big data for the blockchain possible and outlined some of the use cases that aren’t possible on current blockchains.

Pyrofex is working with RChain 

We are very glad to have the Pyrofex Team on board. Greg and Mike Stay (Pyrofex co-founder) have collaborated on various mathematical models in the past, and recently co-authored the paper “Representing Operational Semantics with Enriched Lawvere Theory”.
