As you may know, the NMHU Vatos rugby team is highly competitive year in and year out in national rugby tournaments, winning back-to-back National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) national championship titles in 2015 and 2016. This year, the Vatos are preparing once again to begin competition for the national title beginning in March at the Cowboy Cup playoffs at Regis University in Denver. Because Rugby is a club sport rather than an NCAA sport at Highlands, our Vatos must fundraise for their own equipment, travel, uniforms, and other expenses, and do not receive athletic scholarships. Several of our former Vatos players have gone on to play professionally, and the team boasts a high graduation rate and collective GPA. But, these talented student-athletes playing for the love of their sport need your help to bring another national championship back to Highlands!
