Liebe Freunde und Freundinnen, 
 
zum Berlin Gallery Weekend öffnen wir die Ausstellung CHEATS AND GODS ein letztes Mal in konzentrierter Form – als Raum, der sich noch einmal vollständig durchschreiten lässt, bevor er sich verändert. 
 
1.–3. Mai 2026 
Fr–So · 15–18 Uhr 
 
Am Freitag und Samstag bin ich vor Ort und führe gerne persönlich durch die Ausstellung. 
 
Persischer Salon · Finissage 

Am Freitag, 8. Mai, verwandelt sich die Ausstellung in einen anderen Zustand: in einen persischen Salon, initiiert von Elshan Ghasimi – und zugleich in die erste Finissage von CHEATS AND GODS.

Der persische Salon verbindet Musik, Poesie und Gespräch – eine Form, die über Jahrhunderte hinweg als intimer Denk- und Resonanzraum gepflegt wurde. Im Zentrum steht der Radif – das Gedächtnis der klassischen persischen Musik – ein von der UNESCO anerkanntes immaterielles Weltkulturerbe.

Elshan Ghasimi gehört zu den profiliertesten Stimmen ihrer Generation. In ihrer Arbeit verbindet sie die präzise Kenntnis dieser Tradition mit einer Gegenwärtigkeit, die den Salon nicht als Rekonstruktion, sondern als lebendigen Ort erfahrbar macht.

Die Finissage ist dabei bewusst als Übergang gedacht: ein Abend zwischen Werk, Klang und Begegnung – offen und zugleich verdichtet, mit Imbiss und Getränken.

Aktuell ist Elshan Ghasimi beim Podiumfestival Esslingen zu Gast und komponiert dort ein neues Werk für Harfe, Klarinette und Gesang – es mag Sie überraschen: zeitgenössische klassische persische Musik.

Die Premiere und Festivaleröffnung findet am 30. April statt. Fühlen Sie sich auch hierzu herzlich eingeladen!

For Berlin Gallery Weekend, we open the exhibition CHEATS AND GODS one final time in a concentrated form – as a space that can once more be fully traversed before it transforms. 
 
May 1–3, 2026 
Fri–Sun · 3–6 pm 
 
On Friday and Saturday, I will be present and happy to guide you personally through the exhibition. 
 
Persian Salon · Finissage 

On Friday, May 8, the exhibition shifts into another state: into a Persian salon, initiated by Elshan Ghasimi, and at the same time, the first finissage of CHEATS AND GODS. 

The Persian salon brings together music, poetry, and conversation – a form cultivated over centuries as an intimate space of thought and resonance. At its centre is the radif, the living memory of classical Persian music, recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. 

Elshan Ghasimi is among the most distinctive voices of her generation. In her work, she combines a precise command of this tradition with a sense of contemporaneity that renders the salon not a reconstruction but a living, present space. 

The finissage is conceived as a transition: an evening between work, sound, and encounter; open yet condensed, with food and drinks.

Currently, Elshan Ghasimi is in residence at the Podiumfestival Esslingen, where she is composing a new piece for harp, clarinet, and voice. It may surprise you: contemporary classical Persian music!

The premiere and opening of the festival will take place on April 30. You are warmly invited to attend.
