Goethe im Exil and Radīf at home

Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde der Hochkulturen,

Am 4. März 20:30 spielt Elshan Ghasimi zum Abschluss der absolut zu empfehlenden Reihe und Ausstellung Tracing Movement(s) in Uncertain Times. Dieses wird von dem Programm Goethe in Exil des gleichnamigen Instituts organisiert, ist nomadisch und momentan im ACUD MACHT NEU in Berlin-Mitte lokalisiert.

Die Reihe hat, gleichsam Zeitgeist abbildend und gestaltend, den Iran, unser liebes Persien, heute, morgen und gestern im Blick. Dem Konzert geht eine Lesung der Dichtung des bedeutenden iranischen Dichters SAID um 19 Uhr voran. Der Eintritt zu beiden Veranstaltungen ist – Dank Goethe – kostenlos. Bitte daher bei Interesse zeitig kommen.

Es freut mich zudem sehr Sie heute auf den Konzertmitschnitt der Uraufführung von Elshan Ghasimis Radīf-Neuinterpretation vom 10. November 2022 aufmerksam zu machen. Genießen Sie das Konzert (Klick auf das Foto oben), oder hören sie zuerst die einleitenden und kontextualisierenden Reden des britischen Musikkritikers Michael Church und des Direktors des Museums für Islamische Kunst, Stefan Weber (Foto unten).

Das erste Kapitel der systematischen und umfassenden Reinterpretation des Systems der persischen Kunstmusik ist nun aufgeschlagen. Als künstlerischer Leiter des Projekts gilt mein Dank vor Allen der Komponistin und Musikerin Elshan Ghasimi. Sie hat sich auf den Weg gemacht, ein bedeutendes Stück Weltkultur zu bewahren und zu erneuern.

Besonderer Dank gilt ebenso dem Museum für Islamische Kunst als Partner, dem Bode-Museum und dem staatlichen Institut für Musikforschung als Gastgeber sowie allen Förderern und unserem wunderbaren Publikum.

Dear friends of high cultures,

On the 4th of March at 8:30 pm, Elshan Ghasimi will play at the finishing event of the highly recommended series and exhibition Tracing Movement(s) in Uncertain Times. This is organised by the Goethe in Exile programme of the Goethe Institute. It is nomadic and currently located at ACUD MACHT NEU in Berlin-Mitte.

The series focuses on Iran, our dear Persia, today, tomorrow and yesterday, reflecting and shaping the zeitgeist itself. The concert will be preceded by a reading of poetry by the Iranian poet SAID at 7 pm. Admission to both events is free - thanks to Goethe. Please come early if you are interested.

The first chapter of the systematic and comprehensive reinterpretation of the system of Persian art music has begun. As artistic director of the project and of Bublitz, my thanks go first and foremost to the composer and musician Elshan Ghasimi, who has set out to preserve and renew an important piece of world culture.
