39th IABSE Symposium Vancouver 2017

Engineering the Future - September 21-23, 2017

The Vancouver Symposium will include over 400 presentations organised into plenary talks, parallel sessions and panel sessions. It will also feature an innovative format of Interactive Poster Sessions: short oral presentations followed by direct discussion with the poster authors. The conference hotel Westin Bayshore and many of the evening activities are located on the waterfront. Harbour and river boat tours to view significant structures near Vancouver will take place following the conference, as will a multi-day trip to Whistler with stops at many of the engineering landmarks on the Sea-to-Sky corridor. You can sign up for the tours as part of your Symposium registration or add a tour to your existing account.

Five workshops led by internationally renowned engineers are also planned in the days preceding the Symposium: Seismic Engineering; Timber Engineering; Forensics; Cold Regions Engineering; and a special design-oriented workshop for Young Engineers on Bridge Dynamics. Register early to avoid disappointment.
