The 39th IABSE Symposium provides a platform to the world’s structural engineers to share their experiences with contemporary structures and their vision for the future. The conference theme ‘Engineering the Future’ is highly relevant today when the solutions have to be engineered using innovative technologies and past experience in a way that is economical, robust and enhances the sustainability of the built environment.

Kuala Lumpur Conference 2018
Preliminary Invitation and Call for Papers 

The Conference ‘Engineering the Developing World’ in Kuala Lumpur aims to bring together professional engineers, researchers and public agencies locally from Southeast Asia as well as from around the world to exchange ideas on engineering issues inherent in developing nations achieving developed status.

Authors wishing to present a paper at the conference are invited to submit their abstract online until April 30, 2017.

Spring Committee Meetings 2017 

The yearly spring committee meetings will be held at the end of March and April 2017: the Technical Committee, the SEI Editorial Board and the IABSE Foundation Council will meet at ETH Zurich, Switzerland on March 24, 2017.

The Executive and Administrative Committees will hold their meetings in Bath, UK, on September 21, 2017, just after the IABSE Bath Conference (April 19-20, 2017).

USA -  The USA Group of IABSE will host Future of Design (FOD) in New York City on April 29, 2017. FOD will explore new ways of designing, building, and collaborating. The conference will feature speakers discussing innovative approaches to practice, materials, resilience, sustainability, and design for the developing world. More..

Fazlur Rahman Khan Distinguished Lecture Series
The second of the three 2017 lectures of the Fazlur Khan Distinguished Lecture Series will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Lehigh University, USA. Lawrence G.
